As well as relaxing on the beach, holidaymakers can switch off from the world at Nantian Hot Springs with 34 hot spring pools, located in a natural coconut grove. Culture vultures will enjoy visiting the Nanshan Buddhist Cultural Park while shopaholics will be spoilt for choice at the world’s largest duty free shopping centre in Haitang Bay.
The launch of Sanya for Thomas Cook also marks the first direct flight between the UK and Sanya. The twice weekly flight from London Heathrow to Sanya Phoenix International Airport with China Southern Airline will depart every Thursday and Sunday.
Jill Thompson, Head of Long-Haul Holidays, Thomas Cook UK said: “We’re delighted to be offering Sanya and think it’ll tick all the boxes for customers looking for a sun and beach holiday at any time of the year. We know that more and more families are travelling long-haul and with many of the hotels featuring kids clubs, multiple restaurants and spas, Sanya will be sure to keep everyone happy.”
Today’s announcement is coupled with the news that Thomas Cook Group and Hainan Tourism Development Committee have signed a strategic partnership to help promote and develop Sanya into an international tourist destination.
